Meet the Team

Sam Richardson

Sam has been working in the marine industry since 2012, when he undertook an apprenticeship in Salcombe, Devon. Here he worked on many of the Salcombe Yawl fleet before heading to the Solent to work on some larger vessels and widen his experience of construction types, building on his wooden boat background and understanding of GRP vessels.

Danielle Richardson

Having grown up sailing family yachts, Dani started working in the marine industry in 2013 and then went on to study at the Boat Building Academy, Lyme Regis in 2014-2015. She then worked at boat yards, for a Sail Training Charity and a Wood Recycling Project amongst other employments. She is currently drawing on these practical skills whilst studying as a Marine Surveyor to bring a qualified as well as experienced eye to our vessel condition reporting service.

Drift

As chief morale officer Drift has the very important task of tidying up the wood offcuts after a day in the workshop. Reducing trip hazards is essential for a safe workspace after all!

Trusted Contractors

George Palmer

George is a fellow boat builder who we collaborate with on larger projects or when we need some additional resource that we know will work to the same high standards and with the integrity that we value at Richardson Boat Works.

He completed his apprenticeship in boat building working for a Solent based company, where he and Sam first worked together. Since then, they have worked together as contractors on large refit projects where their aligned attention to detail made them a perfect team, so George is our natural go-to when needing another pair of trusted hands.

Bridget Roe

Bridget has a background in domestic, commercial & industrial electrics as well as marine, so is able to bring the best of all industries together to offer an appropriate, considered service tailored to the boat and individual’s needs. She is qualified to 18th edition, 240 volt & 3 phase and has qualifications with and is a member of British Marine. As a BMET (British Marine Electrical Technician) she holds the required tickets that the boat safety scheme recommends. See here for more information www.boatsafetyscheme.org/stay-safe-advice/electrical-safety/special-risks/

As a trusted contractor of Richardson Boat Works, we will call Bridget in to help with jobs that cross over into her wheelhouse, collaborating to bring a full marine service to our customers. She also offers boat electric checks (read more about that on our services page) to help the conscientious boat owner keep on top of potential headaches.
